That's how it felt.
This week had been a hard week, for all sorts of reasons; long days, high demands, lots of thinking and some stressing. The long days meant I couldn't get out for a mid-week surf, which in turn meant that I felt the week was probably harder than it actually was.
This morning, I got in the water. The wind was slight offshore and the recent storms had left some deep channels, giving the over head waves some beautiful shape. It was however, busy.
My first duckdive was necesarily deep, as I had paddled out in time to get the set of waves on my head. As I pushed deep and felt the wave sweep over me, the bubbles begin to rise, the sound of moving water, I was washed clean. The week stripped away and I was left with just the moving ocean and my board. The crowd didn't bother me (it usually does) and I was able to grab some beautiful waves, and saw some equally beautiful waves beautifully ridden.
A short, perfect session.
Washed clean.
