The essence of a journey is movement; physical, emotional, spiritual. We often journey on a 'holiday', physically moving through new and exciting places, experiencing new ideas, meeting new people. In doing so, we are renewed, we see things differently, think of things differently. We return with a new purpose as through our journey, we are able to take a step back from what is our everyday life and clarify what we love, what is important to us.
Perhaps we are able to do this because, when we journey on holiday, we create the space for it, we open ourselves to new possibilities, we embrace the odd challenge. Strange how we keep these approaches for holidays and not for our everyday. We travel and don't watch TV but read, or talk. We travel and instead of keeping to ourselves, are confident to start up a conversation with strangers. We travel and instead of getting in a car, are happy to experience public transport.
Within days, we return to the everyday mindset.
The question is, how can we journey during the everyday?
