When you travel the coast, surfboards at the ready but with some form of timetable, you soon come to respect the importance of timing. Surf is like that. Within a couple of hours perfect steaming waves can turn to mush, or a small peeling right-hander can build and build until it is for the hard men only. “You should have seen it yesterday!” is often told as you stare at a windswept ocean. This trip is no different. South coast of Western Australia was tiny, then on shore and tiny. Eyre Peninsula was fun with powerful waves and small crowds. Had a fun surf near Apollo Bay in Victoria, with fun waves and an amazing setting. Got to Bells and it is going to be onshore rubbish until we leave.
It was great last week though!
Timing can be everything...
Bells, trying to do it's thing
