Kids

The next time someone starts chastising the youth of today for being useless, good for nothing, with little respect for others... guide them in the direction of the local skate park.
What they will find is a group of ‘kids’, all with varying degrees of skill, with a range of ages and backgrounds, yet able to organise themselves in a shared environment. There is no ‘boss’ barking out instructions, they self manage. Big kids will use their skills to avoid the younger ones. Younger ones will use their common sense to avoid the older ones. They share skills, strive to achieve, have fun.
Sure, there is some colourful language thrown into the mix, sometimes some attitude, but in my experience, we could learn a lot from what goes on in the park.
