Loops

Jackson doesn't do well with up and back walks. The ones where you get to a turn around point and then retrace your steps to your starting point. He's fine on the way out, but as soon as we turn around, he complains of tired legs, questions how far we have to go and when he can get something to eat.

We can walk the same distance, or longer, but do a loop instead of an up and back, and Jack is fine, no complaints. Now when we start a walk he actually asks whether it is 'a loop or just come back this way?'

Makes sense. Why go over ground you have already covered. Then it's just about the distance.

But if you are searching new places, seeing new things, doing something for the first time,

well that's an adventure.
