Rainy Days

It rained yesterday. For most of the day. Sometimes light, sometimes heavy. Funny how the mind works, it’s so easy to think, “It’s a miserable day. We can’t do anything.” The rain almost takes a hold, pressing your spirit down.
In an attempt to fight this, I went for a run. From the backdoor, through wooded bushland, around a beautiful lake towards the sea. Then along the beach, scrambling up a hill to reach the path back to the backdoor. The menacing clouds around allowed the water to show off a beautiful grey. The air was still, with a perfect temperature for running. Light drizzle eased off once I reached the beach, leaving the last part of the run in dry air.
As I stepped into the shower, a downpour unleashed itself on our roof.
Tells me something about taking opportunities between the rains, realising that what may seem unattractive, can bring great joy.
And if you want something, you need to step outside and find out.
