There was a time when our grandparents didn't have the option of walking down an aisle of a supermarket and deciding on the huge range of products that we now have available. "Poor them" you may say, "imagine not having all that choice."
The thing to remember though, is that in this case, choice costs. We spend hundreds each year on things like cleaning products, when Gran would do the same job (or an even better one) with some bi carb soda, vinegar and water.
It's worth thinking about using the home remedies that worked for generations until marketing took over. Check out this great pinterest page for a huge run down of ideas here. There is even a recipe for laundry liquid that will cost you 1 cent per load.
The first one I'm going to try is using oats and water to clean dirty, just cleaned the bike, hands.
