Start- finish

I've mentioned before that am drawn to the idea of craftsmanship, the creation of objects of beauty, of practical use, of importance. A part of the appeal comes from the satisfaction of completing, or finishing a piece (although I know some artists feel they never truly finish, they simply leave it).

I'm no craftsman, that is for sure, but more and more I am enjoying a range of projects to create, to make.

We bought a tired looking cane chair from the rubbish tip a couple of weeks back. With some sanding (ok, a lot of sanding!), a couple of coats of paint and some lovely cushions made by Em, it has gained a new lease on life.

Nice to see a start, and finish.
