Welcome

The humble ramblings of myself will follow. The idea is primarily to place my thoughts into some kind of context, and to write often. Hopefully, if you happen to read this, it will be of some value. The blog title comes from the children's book by Colin Thompson and Amy Lissiat, The Short and Incredibly Happy Life of Riley. Riley is a rat, a very happy rat, and his relatively short life is compared to that of a human. A human who desires much and gains much, yet struggles to find happiness. A rat who has little, yet is content. It is a great read (both myself and my 3 year old enjoyed it- even with its slightly depressing undertones), and I enjoy the challenge the authors present; -you just have to be happy with a lot less. Release your inner Riley.
Perhaps that is what this blog will become, an insight in to life in the ever changing world we live in, a continued search, a father and husband's thoughts, a laugh, a cry, lifestyle, sport, environment.
