It's nice to get positive feedback. I'm about to leave my work after 4 years and I have been overwhelmed by the heartfelt thanks from people. In the 4 years I have done some good things. I will also leave having not suceeded in some areas, and downright failed in others.
It's nice to reflect on the times I let my ego get in the way, didn't carry something out for fear of failure, played second fiddle when I should have taken control, avoided a difficult conversation when it needed to take place, didn't follow something through.
Looking in the mirror doesn't mean getting down on yourself.
It just means making sure you are finding the balance.
