Hide and Seek- toddler style
It goes something like this...
"Dad, can you make a cubby for us out of the couch?"
"Sure"
Dad makes the cubby (as shown above, but times two for the two of them.) They both climb into their respective 'cubbies'.
"Dad, can you put something at the front so you can't see us?"
"No problem"
Dad puts a couple of cushions in front of the entrance.
Pause. There is very little movement from inside the cubbies.
"Dad, can we play hide and seek? You try to find us!"
"But I know where you are. I just set up the cubby you are in!"
"Dad, play hide and seek with us, PLEASE!!!"
"Ok" Dad stays sitting at the side of the couch.
"I wonder where those two kids of mine are? I wonder where they have hidden?"
Giggles from inside the cubbies.
"Maybe they are in the kitchen."
Dad pretends to walk to the kitchen, all the while sitting right next to them. More giggles.
"No, not in there. I just don't know where they could be!"
A little hand pops out the side of the cushion.
"Dad, I'm in here. See my hand moving, just there!"
Two heads pop out from behind the cushions.
"Here I am!" "Here I am, Dad!"
Laughter.
Funny thing is, they would repeat the above a few times before they got tired of it.
Man, sometimes it must be great being a kid.
